Scaled

Several limit orders spread across a price range, placed at once.

A Scaled order splits your size into several limit orders spread across a price range and places them all at once. Use it to build (or reduce) a position step by step instead of at a single price.

Example: buy 1 ETH with 5 orders between 2,700 and 2,600: you get orders at 2,700, 2,675, 2,650, 2,625 and 2,600.

  1. Under Advanced, choose Scaled.
  2. Enter the start price and the end price of the range.
  3. Enter the total quantity (or order size).
  4. Set total orders: between 2 and 20 (2 to 10 with TP/SL).
  5. Choose the quantity distribution (below).
  6. Optional: switch on TP/SL and enter a take profit and / or stop loss (see below).
  7. Click Buy / Long or Sell / Short and confirm.

Every single order appears in Pending and can be edited or cancelled on its own.

Distribution How the size is split
Flat The same size at every price level.
Ascending Larger orders toward the end price.
Descending Larger orders near the start price.
Custom You set the skew: size at the end price ÷ size at the start price. A skew of 2 makes the last order twice as large as the first.

You can add a take profit and a stop loss to a scaled order. Every single order gets its own TP/SL for its own quantity, at the prices you entered:

  • A TP/SL becomes active as soon as its order fills. Every filled part is protected right away, even if SigSig is closed: the TP/SL sits with the exchange.
  • Orders that never fill have no active TP/SL. Cancelling an order also removes its TP/SL.
  • When all orders have filled they form one position. Its TP/SL orders sit at the same prices and trigger together, so they close the whole position, like one take profit or stop loss. They are reduce-only and can never close more than your position; when the position is closed, the remaining ones are cancelled.
  • For a long, the stop loss must be below the lowest order and the take profit above the highest (reversed for a short), so no order can fill beyond its own stop.
  • At most 10 orders with TP/SL. The exchange allows 10 open TP/SL orders per market, so orders that already have a TP/SL on the same market count too. SigSig tells you how many are left.
  • The orders are sent one after the other (about one per second). Keep the page open until SigSig confirms. If one is rejected, SigSig stops and tells you how many were placed; each of those keeps its TP/SL.
  • If the take profit triggers before all orders filled, the remaining orders stay in the book with their own TP/SL. Cancel them in Pending if you no longer want them.
  • Reduce only can’t be combined with TP/SL.
  • Each order is a normal limit order and pays the maker fee when it rests in the book.
  • Place buy orders below the current price and sell orders above it. Orders on the other side of the market fill immediately as taker orders: ten buy orders above the price all fill at once and become one position. The confirm window warns you when this would happen.
  • If some orders can’t be placed (for example below the minimum size per order), SigSig tells you how many were placed.
