Trollbox

SigSig's live chat for traders: talk markets, share verified positions, tag people, reach the team.

The Trollbox is SigSig’s live chat. Talk markets with other traders, share your open positions as verified cards, tag people with @ and reach the SigSig team. Open it with Trollbox at the bottom right of the screen (on phones: on the right of the menu at the bottom).

  1. Connect your wallet and enable trading (top right). Signing in to the chat happens automatically with your trading key, no extra wallet signature.
  2. Pick a username. The Trollbox asks for it the first time you open it (or set it in Settings → Profile). 3–16 characters: letters, numbers and _. You can write once it is set.
  3. Write. Enter sends. On a phone, tap the send button (paper plane) that appears at the right of the field as soon as you type.

Your username belongs to your SigSig account, so it is the same on every device. A different wallet is a different account (also EVM vs. Solana).

Usernames are unique (ignoring upper and lower case). Names that could pass as the team or as staff, like admin, sigsig, team, dev, support or mod (also with look-alike digits), are reserved. Next to every name you see the short wallet address, so copied names stand out.

Switch rooms at the top of the Trollbox. Both rooms are public for everyone signed in. The line next to it shows how many people have the Trollbox open right now.

  • Text up to 280 characters, one line.
  • Emojis: the smiley in the input field, with Recently used, smileys, hands, trading and more.
  • GIFs: the GIF button next to it: search, Trending and Recent (the GIFs you sent). GIFs come from KLIPY and are filtered for safe content.
  • No links, photos or files. Only the SigSig team can post links (clickable in their messages).
  • To prevent spam: at most one message every 2 seconds and 10 per minute, and not the same message or the same shared trade twice within a minute.

Your own messages appear on the right.

  1. Type / in the input field: your open positions appear. Type to filter, for example /bt, choose with ↑ ↓ and Enter, or click.
  2. Confirm Post position. Everyone in the Trollbox will see it.

You can also share from the PnL share window of an open position (the share icon next to its PnL): Share in Trollbox posts the same card to General chat, with your message from that window (on a computer, tick Your message so it goes along). It works on your phone too, and for open Options positions as well.

To show how a trade ended, open the PnL share window from your position history (futures) or your Options history and choose Share in Trollbox. The card shows the result as the app shows it: the closed position with entry, exit price and net PnL, or the finished Options round (for example BTC 5m Up) with your stake, entry and exit price per share and net PnL. A closed result carries no Verified mark: SigSig doesn’t read it from Orderly again, so only open positions are verified.

The card of an open position shows market, Long/Short, leverage, size (in the coin and in USDC), entry price, mark price and PnL in USDC and in % of your margin (an Options round: Up/Down, stake, entry and mark price per share, PnL in % of the stake). SigSig reads these numbers directly from Orderly at the moment you post; they can’t be typed in or changed. Verified with the time means exactly that; the card is a snapshot and doesn’t update afterwards.

Cross and isolated positions can both be shared. To read them, your browser signs one read-only request with your trading key (it can only look at your positions, for a few minutes); your key itself never leaves your device.

  • Reply: hover a message and click ↩ at the right, or right-click it → Reply. Your message shows a short quote; click the quote to jump to the original.
  • Mention: type @ and a username, for example @tom. @admin, also @dev, @team or @SigSig, reaches the SigSig team.

You are mentioned when someone tags your username or replies to one of your messages. You then see @ next to Trollbox at the bottom and an @ button inside the chat: each click jumps to the next mention, oldest first, until none is left. ↓ takes you back to the newest messages.

The number next to Trollbox at the bottom counts unread messages of both rooms. Report a bug only counts for you when someone mentions you there.

Don’t want the count? Settings → Trollbox → Disable Trollbox notifications (or the gear in the Trollbox). You then only get the @ when the SigSig team tags you.

Message sound: while the Trollbox is closed, a short, quiet sound tells you that someone wrote (at most one every 8 seconds; not for your own messages; Report a bug only when you are tagged). Choose Drop, Pop, Chime, Ping or Tap, or switch it off, in Settings → Trollbox or the gear in the Trollbox. With notifications disabled, it only sounds when the SigSig team tags you.

  • ⤢ makes the window larger, ▾ closes it.
  • Drag the header (grip at the left) to move it anywhere on the screen; it never covers the bottom bar. Double-click the header to put it back bottom right.
  • Make it your own size: drag the top edge to make it taller, the left edge to make it wider, or the top-left corner for both. Larger than the small window counts as the large one, so ⤢ switches between your small and your large size. Both are remembered in your browser. Double-click an edge to go back to the standard size.
  • On a phone the Trollbox is a page of its own: tap Trollbox in the menu at the bottom. It fills the screen between the header and the menu, and any other menu item takes you back. A tag or a shared position opens the same page.
  • Team: a member of the SigSig team. Only the team has this badge; it can’t be copied.
  • OG: an early SigSig member.
  • VIP 1 … VIP 8: the writer’s VIP level. Shown by default; hide yours in Settings → Trollbox → Show my VIP badge.

Badges are labels only.

The SigSig team can delete messages, mute accounts, slow the chat down (one message every 10, 30 or 60 seconds) and, in an emergency, pause it so only the team can write. Messages are kept for 7 days and then deleted automatically.

Saved with your account and the same on every device: username, Disable Trollbox notifications, the message sound, recently used emojis and recent GIFs. The window position and size are saved in your browser.
