Your Funds & On-chain Verification
What each signature does, where your deposit goes, and how to check it on-chain yourself.
SigSig runs on Orderly Network. Your deposit is held in Orderly’s smart contracts, not by SigSig and not in a wallet someone else controls. Only your own wallet can request a withdrawal, and every balance can be checked on-chain by anyone.
What you sign, step by step
Section titled “What you sign, step by step”| Step | What your wallet does | Costs gas? | Moves funds? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connect wallet | Shares your wallet address with SigSig. No signature. | No | No |
| Create account | Signs a message: “this address opens an account on SigSig”. Your SigSig UID (account ID) is derived from your address and SigSig’s builder ID. Once per wallet. | No | No |
| Enable trading | Signs a message that authorizes a trading key created in your browser (valid up to 365 days). SigSig uses it to sign your orders, so you don’t confirm every order in your wallet. It cannot withdraw. New browser or device: enable trading again. | No | No |
| Approve (tokens like USDC, not ETH) | A transaction that allows the Orderly vault to take up to the amount you deposit. | Yes | No |
| Deposit | A transaction that sends your tokens from your wallet into the Orderly vault on that network, plus a small cross-chain messaging fee (about 1 USD, paid in the network’s native coin). | Yes | Yes |
| Trade | Nothing in your wallet. Orders are signed with your trading key. | No | – |
| Settle PnL (sometimes before a withdrawal) | Signs a message that books your open profit or loss into your balance. | No | No |
| Withdraw | Signs a message: “pay X to my own address on network Y”. Withdrawals only go to the wallet that signs. The withdrawal fee is deducted from the amount. | No | Yes |
Where your deposit goes
Section titled “Where your deposit goes”- When you deposit, your tokens leave your wallet and go into the Orderly vault contract on the network you deposit from.
- There is no separate wallet per user. The vault is one contract per network, shared by all traders on all exchanges built on Orderly.
- Who owns how much is recorded in the Orderly Ledger, a contract on Orderly’s own blockchain (Orderly L2). Each account has its balance there. Deposits on other networks are reported to it through LayerZero.
- Your balance is omnichain: you can deposit on Arbitrum and withdraw on Base, for example.
- Trades are matched by Orderly’s matching engine off-chain and then recorded on Orderly L2 in batches, usually within 10 to 20 seconds.
Check it yourself
Section titled “Check it yourself”Everything below is public. You don’t need an account.
| What | Where |
|---|---|
| Total funds in a vault | Open the vault address below in the network’s block explorer and look at its token balances. |
| Your deposits, trades and withdrawals | Orderly Dashboard → search your wallet address |
| Every transaction on Orderly L2 | explorer.orderly.network |
| Any account’s balance, directly from the Ledger | Public RPC of Orderly L2: https://rpc.orderly.network (chain ID 291), Ledger contract 0x6F7a338F2aA472838dEFD3283eB360d4Dff5D203, function getUserTokenBalance(accountId, tokenHash) |

Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Non-custodial: SigSig never holds your funds, and a withdrawal always needs your wallet’s signature. Withdrawals are processed by Orderly’s system; the vault cannot be called directly to withdraw.
- Upgradeable contracts: the vaults are upgradeable contracts. Upgrades are controlled by Orderly through a multi-signature wallet (2 of 3 signers on Arbitrum), so you rely on Orderly to operate them as intended.
- Dependencies: SigSig relies on Orderly Network for matching and settlement, and on LayerZero for messages between networks.
