Market

Fill right away at the best available prices.

A market order fills right away at the best prices currently in the order book. Use it when getting in or out matters more than the exact price.

  • You don’t set a price: you pay whatever the order book offers at that moment.
  • A market order always pays the taker fee.
  • A large order can fill across several price levels, so the average price can be worse than the best price you saw. This difference is called slippage.
  1. Choose Market and Buy or Sell.
  2. Enter the quantity or the order size in USDC, or use the slider.
  3. Optional: TP/SL, Reduce only.
  4. Click Buy / Long or Sell / Short.

Below the order panel you see the estimated slippage and your maximum slippage. Set the maximum with the pencil: if the order would fill further away from the current price than that, the rest is not executed. This protects you in thin or fast markets. The not executed part is canceled, and SigSig tells you why: in the message (Order canceled … Not filled within your max. slippage) and in Order history, where the status shows Canceled ⓘ with the reason when you hover it.
