Urgent Entry

Open a position with one click: preset sizes, market order, no confirmation.

Urgent Entry is a small panel with preset position sizes. One click on a size opens a position right away with a market order: no order form, no confirmation. It is made for moments when speed matters more than a precise entry price.

Click Urgent Entry (⚡) in the bar above the chart, next to Layout. The first time, SigSig shows a short notice explaining that every click places an order. The panel floats above the trading page. Drag it by its header to wherever you like. SigSig saves your settings with your account (all devices); the position of the panel stays on each device, since screens differ.

On a phone, tap the ⚡ next to Hide, above the chart. The panel sits above the tab bar and works the same way. Its sizes have no slot numbers and hotkeys, and what greys out a size is written under the sizes.

  1. Choose Long or Short.
  2. Click a size. Your order is sent at once on the market you are viewing, as a market order or as a limit at the best bid / ask for sizes set to Limit (they carry a small LIMIT tag).

Each size shows its slot number (1–9) in the corner, and its own leverage next to the amount if it has one, e.g. 250 20x.

A notification confirms that the order was sent. A moment later SigSig checks the result with Orderly directly and updates that notification:

  • Filled: size and average fill price, and the position appears right away.
  • Limit placed: for a limit size: the price it waits at in Pending until the market comes to it.
  • Partly filled or not filled: the price moved beyond your max slippage, so Orderly cancelled the rest (or the whole order). No position is opened for the unfilled part.
  • Couldn’t confirm: the result wasn’t available yet. Check Positions and Pending before you place the order again.

The line under Long / Short shows the current mark price, the leverage of this market and whether your sizes mean Notional or Margin.

A size is greyed out when it can’t be used right now. Hover it to see why: below the market’s minimum order size, more than your free margin allows, or its own leverage is above what this market allows (the leverage is crossed out and Max 20x shows the market’s limit).

When you have an open position in the market you are viewing, the panel also shows Close position with your close slots: 10%, 25%, 50% and 100% until you change them. One click closes that share of what is still open with a market order, at your max slippage and without confirmation. It can only make the position smaller, never turn it around. Hide folds these buttons away, Show close brings them back.

The bottom of the panel shows the hotkeys with your own keys:

Keys Action
⌥ 1–9 Fire slot 1–9 in the side chosen above (Long / Short)
⌥ L / ⌥ S, then 1–9 Long / Short with slot 1–9, whatever is chosen above, also with the panel closed
⌥ C, then 1–9 Close with close slot 1–9, also with the panel closed
⌥ ↑ / ↓ Switch to Long / Short

The keys that place orders need Trading hotkeys switched on (the rows show off otherwise); ⌥ 1–9 also needs the panel to be open. They work right after a click into the chart too, never while you type in a field. You can put them on other keys, see Hotkeys.

Hotkey & size slot settings › at the bottom opens the hotkeys window directly.

Click the pencil in the panel header. On a phone, the settings open as a full page.

  • Size refers to: Notional: the size is the position value in USDC (for example 1,000 USDC of BTC). Margin: the size is the margin you put up; the position value is margin × leverage.
  • Leverage: shows the leverage of this market. Change opens the leverage settings. On SigSig the leverage is set per market, so a change also applies to your open positions and orders in that market.
  • Max slippage: how far the fill price may move away from the price when you click (0.5 %, 1 %, 2 % or 3 %). Parts of the order that would fill beyond it are not executed.
  • Size slots: up to 9 sizes in USDC, each on its own numbered slot. Type an amount, for example 250 or 2.5k, and press Add: it goes into the first empty slot. ✕ empties a slot; the other sizes keep their numbers.
  • Close slots: up to 9 shares of the open position, from 1% to 100%, always sorted with the smallest as slot 1. Type a share, for example 33, and press Add: it goes to its place by size. ✕ removes one. Either way the numbers of the slots after it change.

Leverage, order type (market or limit at best bid / ask) and max slippage per slot are set in the hotkeys window, see Size slots. A slot with its own leverage sets the market to it before the order.

order-size
Position value = Size (Notional)
Position value = Size × Leverage (Margin)
Quantity = Position value ÷ Mark price, rounded down to the market's smallest step

Market orders fill at the best available prices in the order book, so the actual fill price can differ slightly from the mark price shown. Trading fees apply as for every market order.
