Order types

Every order type on SigSig, and the options you can combine with them.

Choose the order type at the top of the order panel: Limit and Market directly, everything else under Advanced.

At the exchange, most of these orders are limit orders, so each order in Pending and in the order history carries a badge that says what it really is:

Badge Order
Limit, Market, Post only, IOC, FOK the plain types
Trigger Limit, Trigger Market, Trailing stop trigger orders, until they trigger
Scaled one of the orders of a scaled order
Iceberg an iceberg (only part of it shows in the book)
Chase the order of a running Chase Limit
BBO a limit placed at the best bid / ask
Hidden a hidden order (not shown in the book)
TP/SL, TP, SL, Position take profit / stop loss orders

Next to it, Cross or Isolated shows the margin mode.

Every order either adds liquidity to the order book (maker) or takes it (taker). Makers pay the lower fee. An order that rests in the book, like a limit order below the market when buying, is a maker order. An order that fills right away, like a market order or a limit order at or beyond the other side’s best price, is a taker order. See Fees.

These options sit at the bottom of the order panel and can be combined with the order types above where they make sense:

Option What it does
Post only The order is only placed if it adds liquidity (maker). If it would fill immediately, it is cancelled. Limit orders only.
IOC (Immediate or cancel) Fills what it can immediately; the rest is cancelled. Limit orders only.
FOK (Fill or kill) Fills completely and immediately, or not at all. Limit orders only.
Reduce only The order can only make your position smaller or close it, never open, increase or flip it.
Hidden Your order is not shown in the public order book (neither price nor size) but fills normally. It pays the taker fee even while resting, because it adds no visible liquidity.
Order confirm Shows a summary to check and confirm before an order from the order form is sent: size, price, estimated total and estimated liquidation price. Closing from the positions table, Urgent Entry and chart actions don’t ask. The notification after an order fills appears either way.

Tools that help you size or place orders have their own pages: Risk Mode (size by the amount you want to risk) and Urgent Entry (one-click market orders from preset sizes).
