# Quickstart

From wallet to first order in a few minutes.

## Steps

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Connect your wallet

Open SigSig and click **Connect wallet** in the top right corner. Choose your wallet and approve the connection.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Create your account and enable trading

The first time you connect, SigSig asks you to sign two messages:

* **Create account** — registers your wallet on SigSig.
* **Enable trading** — creates a trading key that lets SigSig submit your orders without asking your wallet to sign every single order.

Signing a message is free. It is not a transaction and costs no gas. You can find more about the trading key in [Wallet & Security](/core-concepts/wallet-and-security.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Deposit

Click **Deposit**, pick the network and the amount, and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Your balance appears in the account box once the deposit is confirmed. See [Collateral](/core-concepts/collateral.md) for details.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Place your first order

Pick a market, choose **Buy** or **Sell**, enter a price and size and submit. The [Trading](/getting-started/trading.md) page walks through every part of the order terminal.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## What's next?

* Learn how [margin and leverage](/core-concepts/margin-leverage-and-pnl.md) work before you size up.
* Protect positions with [TP/SL orders](/core-concepts/order-types.md#tp-sl).
* Set up your preferences — order sounds, Zero Emotions Mode and more — via the gear icon in the header.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.sigsig.xyz/getting-started/quickstart.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
